Visitor Visa
Either a single-use or multiple-entry visa (no need to reapply at every visit), valid for a maximum of 10 years or until passport expiration

Most travellers need a visa, and many also need a visa to transit through a Canadian airport
Visitors can stay for up to 6 months, unless the visa officer grants more time using a stamp with a leaving date
Fee: starting from 100$ CAD

For visiting family members for longer periods of time
Parents and grandparents can visit their children or grandchildren for 5 years at a time
Provides multiple entries for up to 10 years
Has specific requirements

Most people need a visa or eTA to travel to or transit through Canada
An eTA is a requirement for foreign nationals who do not need a visa and are coming to Canada by air
Electronically linked to the passport
Valid for up to 5 years, or until passport expiration
Multiple entries allowed, for stays of up to 6 months
eTA does not guarantee entry to Canada
