    Either a single-use or multiple-entry visa (no need to reapply at every visit), valid for a maximum of 10 years or until passport expiration
  • Most travellers need a visa, and many also need a visa to transit through a Canadian airport
  • Visitors can stay for up to 6 months, unless the visa officer grants more time using a stamp with a leaving date
  • Fee: starting from 100$ CAD



Super Visa

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

  • For visiting family members for longer periods of time
  • Parents and grandparents can visit their children or grandchildren for 5 years at a time
  • Provides multiple entries for up to 10 years
  • Has specific requirements
  • Fee: starting at 100$ CAD
  • Most people need a visa or eTA to travel to or transit through Canada
  • An eTA is a requirement for foreign nationals who do not need a visa and are coming to Canada by air
  • Electronically linked to the passport
  • Valid for up to 5 years, or until passport expiration
  • Multiple entries allowed, for stays of up to 6 months
  • eTA does not guarantee entry to Canada
  • Fee: 7$ CAD
